International Women’s Day Morning Tea 2024

Aintree Group would like to extend a warm welcome to our clients, colleagues, friends and community to join us for a morning tea in celebration of International Women’s Day!

Due to the popularity of International Women’s Day events, we’ve opted to hold ours a week later, on Friday 15 March 2024.

Come along and catch-up, network, and hear from our very special guest speaker, Carla Gottgens. Carla is a professional artist and photographer who engages with different communities all across Australia as part of her work.

This event is free to attend and open to all! We do ask that attendees bring a donation of menstrual items to be collected on behalf of Share The Dignity. Share The Dignity distribute period products to those in need and work to achieve menstrual equity here in Australia. They accept all products in original packaging, including pads, tampons, reusable pads, period undies, menstrual cups and incontinence products.

About our Guest Speaker

Carla Gottgens is a practicing professional artist and photographer.

Her photographic work takes her all over Australia photographing anything from giant prawns in tropical Queensland, to an ex-Shanghai policeman turned farmer in Kununurra, Lithium mining in Western Australia, truffle hunting in Tasmania and any potential Australian Prime Minister on the campaign trail.

Her art practice is multi disciplinary and ranges from public sculptures and installations for councils around Australia, street art murals and wall and window work for exhibitions and councils, and a wide range of community based artworks involving community groups and school students who are involved in the design, creation and delivery of permanent and temporary based artworks within a community setting.

Find out more about International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.

The theme of the International Women’s Day 2024 is #InspireInclusion. When we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. So, collectively, let’s forge a more inclusive world for women.

On an individual basis, it’s important to understand, value and seek out the inclusion of women and girls. Additionally, sharing this knowledge, support and encouragement with others is key.
