Validating Client Identification: Strengthening Security & Compliance At Aintree Group

From 1 July 2026, all professional firms, including accountants, lawyers and financial advisers, are required to verify client identities as part of our compliance with new national Anti-Money-Laundering (AML) laws to keep Australians safe.

At Aintree Group, we view this as an important evolution in how we protect our clients and community.

Why These Changes Matter

By confirming who we work with and safeguarding the integrity of each engagement, we help keep your data, and Australia’s financial systems, safe and secure.

This change is part of a national effort to protect Australians from identity fraud and financial crime.

When we ask to validate your ID, we’re upholding our shared commitment to transparency, trust and professionalism. These steps reflect our role as courageous custodians of our community; a responsibility we take seriously as we safeguard your personal and financial information.

What To Expect

From July 2026, clients engaging Aintree Group for designated services across Legal, Wealth and Accounting will need to complete identity verification before we can begin work. It’s similar to opening a bank account – the same kind of ID verification applies to everyone.

Our Approach: Clarity, Consistency and Respect

We understand that being asked for identification may feel unusual or unnecessary, especially if you’ve worked with us for many years. But we are endeavouring to make the process as straightforward as possible for you.

You’ll always know:

  • What we’re asking for: identification and ownership details, relevant to your engagement.
  • Why we’re asking: to meet national AML standards and protect against identity fraud.
  • How we handle it: using encrypted systems and strict privacy safeguards.

You will receive the same consistent message whether you are working with our accounting, legal or wealth teams. It will become part of how we operate, grounded in transparency and respect for our clients.

Our Commitment To You

These changes reflect Aintree Group’s ongoing commitment to integrity, professionalism and care.

Our goal is to make this process as simple and transparent as possible. We’ll provide clear guidance every step of the way and welcome your questions or feedback at any time.

Thank you for your cooperation as these requirements take effect. If you have any questions or concerns about the verification process, please speak with your Aintree Group adviser – we’re here to help.
