To Aintree Group: End Of Financial Year Reflections
Last night the Aintree Group team came together to celebrate the end of another financial year.
For accountants in Australia, 30 June has always been a milestone. Shane and I have celebrated it every year for more than 30 years, and for the past 21 years we’ve celebrated it with our own team.
As Aintree Group has grown to include Legal and Wealth, the meaning of this time of year has changed. While 30 June is still an enormous deadline for our Accounting team, our celebration is no longer just about surviving another EOFY.
It’s about celebrating our people.
Last night, we gathered at a wonderful local restaurant that looked after us with genuine care and warmth. Combined with the incredible work of our Marketing and Events team, it was the perfect evening to pause, reflect and simply enjoy being together.
During the night, I found myself saying something to one of our newest team members that perfectly sums up why I do what I do.
I told them I’d never worked in professional services before Aintree Group… and I don’t think I’d ever work for another professional services firm.
Not because of the work.
Because of the people.
I do what I do because of this team. They are exceptional. Brilliant. Kind. Funny. They challenge me, inspire me and remind me every day why culture isn’t something you write on a wall, it’s something you build, protect and celebrate.
Professional services can be demanding. The deadlines are real, the pressure is real and the pace can be relentless.
But when you have the privilege of working alongside people you genuinely care about, those moments when you stop to celebrate together become some of the most important of the year.
To every member of the Aintree Group team, thank you.
You are the reason Aintree Group is what it is, and I couldn’t be prouder to be on this journey with you.
