Integrity – Insights From The CEO

Integrity isn’t just about doing the right thing when things go well.

Sometimes, integrity is being honest enough to say: I’m not the right person for this job.

When you take on a role, a project or a responsibility, you should genuinely believe you are well placed to deliver what you’ve committed to.

But sometimes you get into it and realise the reality is different.

The role requires skills you don’t have yet. The environment doesn’t suit how you work. The expectations are different from what you anticipated. Or, simply, you’re not the right fit.

That happens.

What matters is what you do next.

You can ask for help. You can learn. You can adapt. You can have an honest conversation about what needs to change.

But what you shouldn’t do is double down simply to protect your ego or prove you were right to take it on in the first place.

There is enormous integrity in recognising when something isn’t working and being prepared to say so.

Because leadership, professionalism and integrity aren’t about pretending you can do everything.

They’re about taking responsibility for what you said you would do, and being honest when you realise you may not be the best person to do it.
