I am Vincent Italiano, the Director of LuxCorp Building Surveyors.
I have been a Building Surveyor for over 15 years and I have been running my own business (LuxCorp Building Surveyors) for 3 years. I’ve been a part of both private firms and different local governments.
Away from work, I love spending time with my wife of 7 years, Rebekah and our 3 kids, Riley (6), Jaxon (3) and Harpa (1). When I get a spare minute, you’ll find me on the golf course.

Tell us about your role at LuxCorp Building Surveyors
As well as being the director, I am a Building Surveyor (or Building Certifier). My statutory role is to ensure buildings are compliant with building legislation, safe for occupants and are energy efficient. We issue Building Permits and conduct the mandatory inspections, holding builders and owners accountable to ensure compliance is achieved.
Our expertise is in the domestic/residential sector. We issue building permits for multi unit developments, houses, sheds and swimming pools.
Rebekah and I have been running our firm for 3 years and are lucky enough to have 2 employees who we greatly appreciate.
What was your inspiration?
Prior to starting the business, I believed there was a gap in the market for certifying. We wanted builders and owners to feel they were being listened to, and weren’t just a number in a never ending line. The goal was, and still remains to be a firm that answers the phone, are readily available and will help provide solutions to our clients, rather than be a speed hump in the process.
What is the most rewarding part of your role?
Seeing the final result. Whether it’s a swimming pool with perfect landscaping or multi unit developments, knowing that we are part of the process and can help owners and builders achieve their desired end result is a rewarding part of our job.
While we conduct the mandatory final inspection, we are continuously amazed with the perfect structures. It all starts with a design on paper and ends up being a dream come true.
What is the most challenging part of what you do?
A big part of our role as Building Surveyors is saying no. It’s never nice to provide feedback to owners or builders saying what they have done is not quite right, however compliance is at the forefront of our mind and we will not settle for anything less.
There was also a gap in our business with regards to our accountants and the advice we were being provided with, including how the business was structured, having no meetings prior to 30 June, and having no one answer the phone for questions we had. We felt lost until we came across Ashley and Felicity at Aintree Group.
What business milestone are you most proud of?
We are about to commence our third year of operation at LuxCorp Building Surveyors. We rode the highs and navigated out of the lows and we are super proud of where we sit today.
I also love training and seeing people develop. One of our staff members has just gained registration as a Building Inspector. Luke, our Building Code Consultant, has been with the company for a little over a year. This is a great achievement both for the business and Luke, and he is a great asset who will continue to grow and develop.
What has been the biggest benefit of having Aintree Group on-side?
We have used Aintree Group’s accounting and bookkeeping services for one year.
We love that Aintree Group are always available. Ashley and Felicity answer the phone, reply to emails and put up with all my questions… some which they probably laugh at!
Ashley has helped us restructure the business to benefit the way we run. We also have tax planning meetings where advice is offered on how we best move forward to EOFY. We are confident with our bookkeeping when Felicity validates the entries into Xero and keeps us compliant with the ATO regulations.
Rebekah and I can’t stress enough that moving over to Aintree Group has been the best business decision we’ve made to date. With the guidance of Ashley and Felicity, we feel more confident than ever that we are moving in the right direction with our business.
